Have you ever wanted to learn to navigate with a map and compass? Have you ever looked at a trail map and wondered if you were heading in the right direction? Well, this first of 3  clinics is just what you need. Learn from a retired Green Beret about the fundamentals of a compass, topographic maps, and some basic navigational concepts, and start your journey to mastery of navigation. We will be moving around to identify terrain features, and you can expect to hike/walk several miles. 

The clinic will be limited to 10 students so that Ryan can give everyone attention to learn these life-saving skills. Sign up ASAP. $80

We will review the first session's lessons and progress during our second Introduction to Land Navigation free clinics. This clinic will focus on the practical application of determining your current location, where you want to go, and how to get there using only a map and compass. We will start with small group exercises and progress to individual activities requiring locating your location on a map,  planning a route to a predetermined checkpoint on a key terrain feature, and navigating back to the start. Depending on how you apply the skills, you can expect to walk, hike, or run about 2-5 miles during the clinic.
